Flow Rates at Different Pressures

Van Air Freedom Dryers are single tower deliquescent compressed air dryers for stationary applications. Freedom Dryers remove harmful water vapor from compressed air lines.

Wet compressed air enters the bottom of the dryer and flows upward through a bed of deliquescent desiccant, which absorbs moisture as it slowly dissolves. Condensate drops to the bottom of the vessel to be drained. Dry air exits the top of the vessel.

When used with Dry-O-Lite desiccant, the Freedom Dryer automatically provides a dew point that is approximately 20°F lower than temperature of the air at the vessel inlet. For example, if the air inlet temperature is 80°F, the Freedom Dryer delivers a 60°F dew point. If the air inlet temperature is 50°F, the dryer delivers a 32°F dew point.

Ideal for a wide range of applications, Freedom Dryers protect against freeze-ups in the winter and liquid in the summer. Freedom Dryers may be installed inside or outside, and with a pressure drop less than 1% of the operating pressure, they are ideal for low pressure applications. Also with no moving parts or electrical components, Freedom Dryers can be applied with confidence in dirty and hazardous locations.

Self-Adjusting Dew Point

The Freedome dryer automatically provides a dew point that is 20°F lower than the inlet temperature to the dryer. When the dryer has 80°F inlet air in the summer, it provides a 60°F dew point. In the winter, when the dryer has a 30°F inlet air, it provides a 10°F dew point. Remember, as long as the air temperature downstream of the dryer remains above the dew point provided, you'll have no liquid or freeze-ups.

With its power and technology in the desiccant, the Freedom dryer is the simplest in operation, which no moving parts to wear out or adjust.

Simply add desiccant a few times each year. No skilled maintenance is needed and desiccant usage automatically adjusts in direct relation to the amount of air flow through the dryer.

Deliquescent desiccant tablets incorporate the latest improvements in deliquescent dehydration. DQ11 is compressed under more than 20,000 pounds PSI into high density tablets with elliptical ends. This hardness level insures that the tablets will retain their shape through their operating life and keep uniform air flow throughout the desiccant bed. Deliquescent desiccant tablets are all pure active ingredients for longer and more effective drying.
