Features
1. HIGH MOISTURE CAPACITY: The high surface
area and excellent pore distribution combine to give PSI activated
alumina a high water adsorption capacity. This feature of PSI
activated alumina reduces investment, energy con-sumption and
operating costs through smaller bed sizes or longer operating
cycles.
2. SMOOTH BEADS/ LOW ABRASION: Ensures LESS
DUST-ING during tower loading and depressurization. Low abra-sion
means lower pressure drop and less chance for plugged or clogged
pore orifices, valves or filters due to dust carr yover. (LOW
PRESSURE = LOW DUSTING = BET-TER PERFORMANCE)
3. UNIFORM SIZE = LOW PRESSURE DROP In a packed
bed, PSI activated alumina provides a low pressure drop which
minimizes channeling and maximizes utilization of the whole drying
capacity of the tower.
4. UNAFFECTED BY LIQUID WATER: Water slugging due
to upstream failure of aftercoolers, moisture separators, drain
traps or filters will not fracture PSI activated alumi-na.
Adsorption capacity of saturated desiccant can be restored after a
complete regeneration cycle.
5. HIGH CRUSH STRENGTH: This feature of PSI
activated alumina limits dusting when loading towers. A high crush
Its strength makes activated alumina a good pre-bed material for
use with other types of desiccants in mixed towers.
Benefits
1. Uniform Ball Size
This property is especially useful in high pressure gas
dehydration where minimizing pressure drop is important. The
uniform size and sphericity of F-200 prevents adsorbent segregation
during pneumatic loading,
thus minimizing channeling and yielding more efficient use of the
entire desiccant tower.
2. High Crush Strength
F-200 has high crush strength which allows rapid pneumatic loading
of towers. The high crush strength also allows use of taller towers
that make more efficient use of the desiccant. F-200 activated
alumina is highly resistant to amine attack. Furthermore, F-200's
high crush strength enables it to dehydrate acid containing gases
and liquids, such as CO2, for a longer operating life.
3. Low Abrasion
The low abrasion of F-200 ensures less dusting during transport,
loading, and service life which reduces pressure drop and minimizes
downstream valve and filter plugging, common with dustier
products.
4. High Adsorptive Capacity
F-200's high surface area and tailored pore distribution provide a
high dynamic H2O adsorption capacity. With proper tower design and
effective regeneration, F-200 can achieve an ultra low H2O effluent
specification (i.e. dew point). F-200 also has excellent cyclic
stability that yields a long life.
