Positive Control Regulators are used to modulate the Intake
Valve and other system valves to control compressor output.
Installed to sense compressor output pressure, this regulator stays
closed up to a preset pressure and then modulates
open to provide a positive control signal as compressor pressure
increases. Within the spectrum of Positive Control Regulators
there are two types with distinct differences; one utilizes a
proportional response with downstream bleed to set gain and the
operates off a differential response with factory set gain and
adjustable set point.
Negative Control Regulators are used to modulate a normally
closed intake valve and other system valves to control compressor
output. Installed to sense compressor output pressure, this
regulator stays open to a preset pressure and then
modulates closed to provide a negative control signal as compressor
pressure increases. The Negative Control Regulators come with a
factory set gain and an adjustable set point.
